Ahead of the start, our facilitators visited Seosanjeong, the last residence of Seon Master Daehaeng, to pay their respects and offer prayers. On Science and Religion 과학과 종교의 관계 - 책 '알리스터 맥그래스의 과학과 종교' 중 많은 사람이 과학과 종교가 “독립적이고 자율적인 연구분야이자 영역이라고 주장한다.” “이 접근방식은 실재를 파편화하는 필현적인 결과를 초래한다.” “우리는 삶을 명확하게 나누어 구별된 파편들로 경험하지 않는다. 우리는 먼저 전체로, 또 상호 연관된 상태로 삶을 경험한 후에 그것의 다양한 측면들을 연구하기 위해 특정 학문을 발전시킨다.” 한마음과학원에서는 한마음의 원리, 물질계와 정신계의 근본이 같음을 탐구하고 실증합니다. 다양한 학자들과의 지속적인 토론으로 연구를 이어갑니다. 한마음과학원은 2027년 9월 대행선사 탄신 100주년 학술대회를 앞두고 있습니다. 앞으로 과학원의 행보를 지켜봐 주세요 🙂 Many people “insist that science and religion are to be seen as independent, autonomous fields of study or spheres or reality.” “This inevitably compartmentalizes reality.” “ ‘We do not experience life as neatly divided into separate compartments; we experience it in wholeness and interconnectedness before we develop particular disciplines to study different aspects of it.’” Hanmaum Science Institute explores and demonstrates the principle of Hanmaum—that the material and spiritual realms share the same foundation. Through ongoing dialogue with scholars, we aim to foster the convergence of religion, scholarship, and science. Hanmaum Institute is preparing for the International Conference in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Seon Master Daehaeng’s birth in September 2027. Stay tuned for our journey ahead! 🙂

과학원 국제회의실을 늘 지키던 코끼리 잠깐 이사가요 🐘 "나 옻칠받고 돌아올게" 장인분들의 정성으로 옻칠이랑 받침대가 생길 거에요. 포천에서요! 코끼리 이전에 대체 어떤 원목이었을까요? 코끼리라서 그런지 엄청 무거워요 나무기둥 크기도 어마어마 했을 거 같아요 나이도 꽤 든 나무였겠죠? 맨 마지막 사진 - 과학원의 이전 모습 We are undergoing a remodeling! Part of it is our elephant - Our beloved wood elephant is moving to get a special treatment - Korean Ottchil, natural varnish from the sap of lacquer trees. Ottchil will make the elephant skin get beautiful over time. A true K-beauty. 😉
